Sažetak
An artificial neural network is a computational model based on the structure and functions of biological neural networks.Expert system is a computer program that uses artificial - intelligence methods to solve problems within a specialized domain that ordinarily requires human expertise. Some of the possible applications of artificial neural networks in water resource engineering include the prediction of sewerage flow in urban catchments, predicting water levels, determining the extent of water surfaces shown in satellite photographs, developing hydrological rainfall-runoff models, etc. The paper will briefly present a number of possible applications of the artificial intelligence (expert systems and neural networks) in hydrotechnics.
