Sažetak
Štefa Jurkić was a Central-European writer from Bosnia and Herzegovina. She was born in Cazin (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 1896 and died in Livno (Bosnia and Hercegovina) in 1971. Her father was of Czech origin but he worked as a judge in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During her childhood and youth years, Štefa Jurkić lived in various parts of today's Bosnia and Herzegovina. She studied French and German in Austria and graduated from the University of Graz. Her later main occupation was a teacher. She taught French. Her literary works deal with a wide range of topics and value aspects, but it is always done with humourous, feminine and idealistic touches. The research study of the three authors of this article will focus on Štefa Jurkić's two mystical novels. They are Petnaest tornjeva / Fifteen Towers (Zagreb, 1934) and Plašt malog križara / Small Crusader's Gown (Zagreb, 1939). These two novels have been translated into the Czech language. The expected result of the current research study is some kind of a delineation of a South-Slavic identity and awareness that developed and that were shaped in Bosnian- Herzegovian mentality and that were all finally forwarded and mediated to Czech readers by means of these two novels.
