Sažetak
Th is article deals with the royal tombs of Prince Andrew of Hungary (d. 1345) and of his wife, Queen Johanna 1st of Anjou (d. 1382). Th e complex political and dynastic issues that conditioned their lives also aff ected the typology and the critical fortune of their tombs, erected in two of the most representative churches of Naples, the Cathedral and Santa Chiara, near the tombs of more kings and members of the Angevin royal family. Th e article analyses the symbolic function of the tombs, the message they delivered through the visual narration of images and inscriptions, as well as their transformation and perception during the modern age until their partial or total loss.
