Sažetak
Dye penetration assays are a powerful tool to assess potential leakiness of the epidermal barrier in vivo. A combination of different assays provides an indication about the functionality of both the stratum corneum and the tight junction barrier. Application of different molecules can point to the nature of a barrier defect.
