Sažetak
The need for parking vehicles is one of the basic determinants of transport tourist demand in a destination. Location of a car park, spatial schedule, capacity, distance from the source of demand for the service and the features of the service, build constituent parts of the quality of tourist product in a destination. The dominance of the car traffic in tourist flows in combination with a large share of hotel accommodation has resulted in the interest to research the features of parking services in hotels and the satisfaction level of parking services. The study was performed on one of the most developed regions of the Republic of Croatia – Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. Various tourist destinations were included, and in them different hotels, in order to further test the universality of the conclusions about the importance of parking services. The results showed that all hotels provide parking service for their guests but it varies in terms of price, location, type and availability. It was also shown that the type of destination affects the expectations of hotel guests in terms of parking, so that the lowest expectations are related to hotels in a civic destination, and highest to hotels in exclusive destinations and hotels of the highest category. Hotel guests definitely expect from the hotel an assured parking space and consider this service to be an element of the hotel product, which along with accommodation, food and drinks and other services determines the quality of hotel offer. Before choosing the accommodation, guests check the availability of parking services. Differences in the ways of parking and payment, are recognized by guests to a lesser extent and consequently they take it into account to a lesser extent, which can be caused by socio- economic situation, the destination type, offer in a destination and expectations of guests themselves.
