Sažetak
Enterprises are faced with growing global competition, and rapid and dynamic change in its environment. Knowledge should be the basis on which businesses can build sustainable operations and gain competitive advantages. The introduction of knowledge management (KM) initiatives should result in the creation of added value, that is, wealth for the enterprise, its employees and, ultimately, for society at large. Knowledge management initiatives have been embraced by businesses, particularly in the production and service sector. The importance of human resources and knowledge, that is, intangible assets, is constantly growing. Still business enterprises did not introduce to the full extends the activities focused of management of knowledge. The research identifies critical success factors and barriers for knowledge management implementation in business enterprise. Understanding the role of human resources in the process of introducing knowledge management initiatives, in particularly the role of managers can help avoid obstacles and develop efficient knowledge management initiative.
