Sažetak
Abstract: Digital business transformation requires great adaptation of companies to the application of digital technologies and the creation of new business models. The use of information technology (next: IT) is no sufficient only at the operational business level. The maturity of IT use takes on the role of the company's strategic partner. The role of board, together with other business and IT managers, should be focused on the external environment and the needs of stakeholders in creating business value of IT as well as in achieving better business results and greater competitiveness. Basic principles for IT business value creation are: aligning business and IT strategies, risk management, resource management, quality management, and assessing maturity of IT for continuous improvement. COBIT 5 provides a comprehensive framework that helps the company achieve the busines goals and create value through effective IT governance. The purpose of the abstract is to present the results of the conducted IT performance audit within the specific production company from Croatian business practice. Cobit 5 PAM (Process Assessment Model) and 15 selected COBIT processes were used for this audit. During the assessment process, the weaknesses related to the maturity of IT function were identified. Some of them are: insufficiently defined company’s business strategy ; lack of a strategic IT development plan, inadequate project management, inadequate quality management, inadequate risk management, insufficient management of IT services. According to the audit findings about IT performance, improvement projects have been initiated. Some of them are: business and IT strategy alignment ; implementation of the quality management system within IT function according to the ISO 9001 ; implementation of the practice of IT service management.
