Sažetak
The investigation of the behaviour of metals in plants is of environmental and nutritional interest. One of the factors influencing the mobility and/or retardation of metals in plants is the inteaction of metal with surface active functional groups of xylem cell walls consisting of cellulose, lignin and/or pectin.
As model system simulating natural conditions we used chromatography of metals on paper and paper impregnated with lignin precursors with water as developer. The results reealed different mobility of the metals related to the kind of precursor.
