Sažetak
Starting with the history of the name of the common state of Czechs and Slovaks, the author will show what led to the ideologization of orthographic issues and to the dissemination of the compound adjective československý (Czechoslovak) without a hyphen during the twentieth century and today. The autor will also describe the application and adaptation of the adjective československý / česko-slovenský (Czechoslovak / Czech-Slovak) in the Croatian language. Historical and linguistic study of the formation and function of the compound adjective československý / česko-slovenský (Czechoslovak / Czech-Slovak) will be compared to the application of the adjective srpskohrvatski / srpsko-hrvatski (Serbocroatian / Serbo-Croatian).
