Sažetak
Modern implicitly coupled pressure-velocity algorithms introduced a considerable increase in convergence rates when compared with segregated algorithms. Although, segregated treatment of turbulence model equations often limits such algorithms from reaching their full potential. Therefore, implicit coupling of two-equation turbulence models is investigated. The procedure is tested using incompressible k-epsilon and k- omega SST turbulence models for simulating several complex flow fields. It is found that implicit cross-coupling of two-equation turbulence models accelerates convergence of field values, exhibits smoother convergence compared to segregated turbulence models and often prevents overshoots and undershoots of the calculated field values during the simulation.
