Sažetak
The paper deals with the meaning, distribution, standardization and design solutions of the service facilities along motorways in the Republic of Croatia. It studies the future needs and provides guidelines for the implementation of new services and equipment keeping in mind the traffic safety, as well as additional possibilities of such facilities (impact on the development of the local community, contribution to the Croatian tourist offer). Based on the carried out survey and analysis of the locations and services of the road service facilities on motorway A1 the paper gives concrete proposals for the solution of the observed drawbacks.
