Sažetak
The Roma population of many European countries suffered greatly during World War II. Many Roma were deported to various forms of concentration camps, where they were tortured and killed. The research presented in this paper is focused on the position of the Roma in Slovakia and the Independent State of Croatia during the war, so as to identify the similarities and differences in the treatment of Roma in the two states, both of which were created under the patronage of Nazi Germany. The question of the influence of the Nazi model of extermination on the attitudes of the Slovak and the Croatian authorities towards the Roma is of special importance in this context.
