Sažetak
In this exploratory study the authors intend to shed light on the processes of socioeconomic transition and enterprise development in Croatia. Croatia is a particularly interesting study because it recently gained independence from Yugoslavia, emerged from war, and unlike most other centrally planned economies, Croatia had implemented a market-oriented form of socialism. The authors conclude that despite difficulties, the transition process marches forward, SMEs are instrumental to successful transition and the long-term prospects are promising for Croatia.
