Sažetak
In the process of transition the equity capital is supposed to finance a) the current existing operation and b) restructuring in order to increase the efficiency. Thus, the optimal size and structure of the equity capital has an decisive impact on the objectives of transition and privatization.
The size of equity capital in 1995 has decreased by 2.2 per cent as compared to 1994. At the same time the foreign investments amounted only 1.5 per cent of the total equity capital in the Croatian economy.
Therefore, the value of the equity capital was reduced and the amount of the foreign investments was negligable.
