Sažetak
In the recent years, several new generation centres for generation planning, monitoring and control of hydropower plants (HPP) have been put into operation in Croatia. Those are Generation Centre Hydro South for and Generation Centre Hydro North, while Generation Centre Hydro West is currently under implementation. There are numerous applications and subsystems in these centres, the most important ones being: SCADA, Automatic generation control, Reactive power and voltage control, Short-term hydrology forecasting, Short-term production planning and optimization, River flow simulation, Energy metering, Web Portal and Data Warehouse. Along with works in the centres, an upgrade of process information systems and smart meter communications in HHPs is carried out, as well as an automatization of hydrologic, meteorological and piezo metric metering stations. The solutions for river basins centres is a combination of commercially proven and tailor-made applications, which are based on open and distributed architecture that ensures system’s scalability, flexibility and easy maintenance.
