Sažetak
In this paper the low-pass filter design procedure is revisited in order to convert ultraspherical polynomial function into physically realizable filter characteristics. The obtained characteristics is compared with Butterworth and Chebyshev characteristics and is shown to possess capability to design more classes of filters based on specifications, due to the two parameters that can be chosen freely. Finally, the realization of third order stepped-impedance microstrip filter prototype is presented, together with its characterization.
