Sažetak
The city of Osijek was one of the most famous and key industrial cities in the eastern part of Croatia. Today Osijek is not that much inwrought by industrial threads. However, there are still many brownfield industrial sites with high industrial heritage potential. Those sites are still not properly documented or placed under protection. This paper presents preliminary research conducted for an interactive digital database of brownfield areas having industrial heritage potential, using quantitative and qualitative indicators. The objective of this research is to generate data and define the indicators that will drive the methodological framework for inventorying and systematization of industrial heritage documentation. This will further stimulate forming the framework for sustainable adaptive reuse of industrial and post-industrial areas without losing industrial identity and character. The Match Factory "Drava" in Osijek, unique in Croatia, was used as a case study. The methodology used comprised three main phases: i) identification of industrial and post-industrial areas ; ii) collection of different types of data (e.g., archive material, museum exponents, Conservation Department documents) and iii) systematization of data obtained and generation of catalogue units for observed industrial sites and individual industrial buildings.
