Sažetak
In this paper is presented a new method for calculation of eddy current losses and relevant fields in the core of transformer, based on the transformation of 3D problem to 2D. It is shown that eddy currents have negligible effects on the magnetic flux density distribution in 3D core in low frequency cases, and therefore coupling nonconductive 3D and 2D domains is possible. The analytical solvability of the Ampere's law in 2D provides tailor-made magnetic conditions for simulation of eddy currents problem in 2D model as it is in 3D model. Thus, different core geometries and different ways of lamination stacking can be compared and analyzed on very dense mesh in the 2D domain.
