Sažetak
Abstract: Hotels are, in every way, some of the basic catering in a tourist offer, providing integral tourist-related services. Except for accommodation serving food and beverages, thay can also provide other services, which can be related to sports activities, wellness, recreation, but also holding of various gatherings, conferences, and large or small parties. In order to realise all of the aforementioned activities in hotels or other catering facilities, a well-know and will-managed brand should be developed which would be distinguiched on the market from other similar facilities by its renowned characteristics. These significant characteristics include:name, identity, various other attributes such as design, trademark, style, manner of building and furniching of the facility, etc. On the other hand, it is necessary to create a visual identity of a certain facility by a trademark/registered logotype, i.e. a symbol which would create a certain image – association in the minf of the user, and provide fulfillment of promises from the offer. After the Croatian War of Indepencence, some of the large of hotels chains started doing business in Croatia. For example, the Sheraton Hotel, a renowned global hotel chain, started doing business in Zagreb in 1996. The hotel is located in the city centre, designed for accommodation of foreign and Croatian businessmen. Its decently arranged space with classic furniture is inspired by the historicist style without excessive decorations, with the most contemporary tehnology and supporting facilities. Various visual forms and styles have developed over time in construction or furniching of hotel or caterinf facilities, all with the purpose of satisfying the sense of the tourist offer users.
