Sažetak
The bigger and more sophisticated division of labor within the national economies of the developed countries has greatly conditioned and encouraged faster development of world division of labor and exchange of goods, services, capital and knowledge between operators of different countries which are often very far away. In this regard, numerous world economic integrations as a cohesive factor in these relations occurred as an organized form of economic and political unity based on common goals, and the means to achieve those goals are an integral part of the process of institutionalization of the global economy. European integration processes, which have reached globally the most advanced level, have undergone many stages and assumed various forms: customs unions, free economic zones, associations, communities, and at the end the European Union. Integration process in Europe, as in other parts of the world is accompanied by a variety of theoretical considerations and concepts, which all have starting point in conceiving the concept of integration. Europe has always played a leading role in various integration movements, and even in the present time it is shown that the European Union is the most successful integration model at all of its developmental stages and it can also act as a successful economic and political integration partner.
