Sažetak
The objective of this in vitro study was to evaluate and compare the fluoride release from microlaminated glassionomer based on glass hybrid technology coated with two different surface coating agents. A total of 18 samples was divided in three groups of six samples each: (1)glassionomer GC Equia cement coated with Equia coat (Equia+EC), (2) glassionomer GC Equia cement coated with Varnish coat (Equia+VC) and (3) control group (uncoated glassionomer GC Equia cement). Fluoride release was measured using an ion-selective electrode (ORION EA 940) after 24 hours and 4 days. Repeated measures ANOVA, multiple comparison Tukey's test and paired t-test were used to test the differences between the three groups and two time points. After 24 hours, fluoride release was significantly lower in Equia+EC group (41.57 mg/L) compared to Equia+VC group (70.97 mg/L) and control groups (75.95mg/L). After 4 days, fluoride release in Equia+EC group was the lowest (12.76 mg/L), but not significantly lower compared to Equia+VC group (27.61mg/L). Fluoride release in both groups was significantly lower compared to the control group. The lowest cumulative fluoride release was found in Equia+EC group (54.33 mg/L), followed by Equia+VC group (98.58 mg/L), while the highest level was found in the control group (144.92 mg/L). Nanofilled surface coating agents reduced the amount of released fluoride compared to non-coated cement.
