Sažetak
The current economic situation in the European Union strongly reminds of the beginnings of the economic and financial crisis in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, with the difference that SFRY was a political union, politically organised as a single country governed from one centre, while the Eurozone operates only as an economic integration of many countries that solve problems by negotiations. The Eurozone is not a common political space and all of the other problems that occur between the EU Member States throughout the EU territory result from this fact, such as the lack of a single economic space, a common economic policy, and the fact that there is no common fiscal policy or transfers. The first wave of the global economic crisis that has affected the EU demonstrated the vulnerability of all the financial institutions of the EU, and the crisis was successfuly solved only by the Member States that had found their own way out of the crisis. However, the crisis slowly turned into a new, much more dangerous second wave of crisis, which will be expressed as a crisis of public finances, and which has developed as a result of the lack of a common fiscal policy co-operation between the EU Member States. When considering the theory of optimal foreign currency effects, it should be pointed out that without strong political co-operation or support, i.e. without a strong political union, no monetary of political stability of the Union or individual states can be planned. Unlike former Yugoslavia, Yugosphere is not structured as a state or a community of states, but primarily as a technical solution with the objective to develop and interconnect the total market area, from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Macedonia, i.e. the entire former economic, customs, financial and political common space.
