Sažetak
The purpose of activity 4.3 was to enhance our knowledge about the processes driving creativity and innovation on the micro level of creativity and innovation in selected companies in the Adriatic region and propose (facilitate) interventions that would contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the participating companies. The insight is structured in a way that allows for a cross-case and cross-country comparisons as well as for adding to scientific knowledge. The activity featured a series of collaborations between research institutions and innovative, internationally oriented start-ups or SMEs in the Adriatic region. In particular, researchers from eight countries in the region (in alphabetical order: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia) have collaborated with 16 prudently selected companies. The work in this activity was based on principles of action research. Therefore, we first gained an in-depth understanding of the processes in the companies to be able to design, together with the company representatives, actionable interventions. At the regional level, we reported 86 findings about processes within participating companies, identified 66 issues and proposed and facilitated implementation of 71 interventions. These results of our work, as elaborated on in the remainder of this report, contributed to improving the observed processes in the companies. In addition, based on lessons learnt while interacting with practitioners, we generated potential generalizations that can be used as propositions guiding future research.
