Sažetak
Abstract–In this paper backup strategies and principles of backup management are surveyed. Before actual processing, some theoretical considerations are explained, which are necessary for understanding aforementioned concepts. In this paper the importance of backup for various organizations that use some type of data storage is explained. Examples of carrying out threat analysis and analysis of business and operational requirements were shown. Results of those analyses are used to form backup objectives. Three basic types of backup are used: Full, Differential and Log. Also, there are three categories of backup that can performed by the database administrator: Database backups, File backups and Transaction Log backups. The main task of the database administrator is creating a backup strategy, which is achieved by combining backup types and backup categories. Finally, steps for making your own Backup Management are listed, and it is clarified how to handle backups after creating them.
