Sažetak
Due to enthusiasm of individuals, the bibliography of Ivanec has another publication which places the town and its surrounding places in the Middle-European cultural area because this book is not only about the tradition of coal mining but also about the fact that this branch of industry initiated economic as well as cultural development of the region. The monograph, alongside basic information about the history of coal mining in Ivanec, deals with miners' everyday life: miners' equipment and tools, their documents, memories, with ways in which the motif of miners and coal mining was presented on stamps, with bills, coins, medals, etc. The activities of Ivanec's Miners' Troop in the past as well as after its revitalisation in 2006 are especially highlighted in the book All of this gives a special impression of a monograph which brings new details and interesting information in connection with the research into the mining history of the Ivanec region and characterises it as a valuable contribution to mark the 130th anniversary of organised coal mining in Ivanec and the 10th anniversary of reestablishment of Ivanec's Miners' Troop, which, together with the historical unit of Ivanec's Knights, constitutes Ivanec Knights Association. These two units, together with the touristic and cultural manifestation Ivanec's Mining Days, are one of the most important elements of the local tourist offer. Thus, I am pleased that in Ivanec there are individuals who preserve and tirelessly research local heritage. And this monograph is an extraordinary result of their work, which in the end, strengthens Ivanec's pride and identity.
