Sažetak
At the end of 20th and early 21st-century globalization process and interconnectedness between countries reach the high level. All around informatization, digitalization, and technological progress took their part in the better flow of information and efficiency of state and private institutions and also more complex and efficient trade activities between countries. Consequences are a high level of living standard and economic development. Repercussions are a higher level of export and import on world label what gives economic diplomacy for one of the most important economic question and investigation necessity for countries all around the world. An absence of economic diplomacy is too expensive for every country. Economic diplomacy focuses on substantiation of a high level of export, foreign direct investment (FDI) and clear and concrete involvement in international trade channels according to achieve and protect national economic interests. Model and institutional environment of economic diplomacy are different among countries. It is conditioned with several determinants like historical heritage, social, political and economic state framework. Mentioned facts are reasons for clearly and comprehensive defining economic diplomacy. Diplomacy is the oldest way of cooperation between countries and has a lot of classification, but this paper focuses on economic diplomacy, its historical evolution, and features. The main purpose of this paper is to underline the importance of economic diplomacy for overall economic development and to establish preconditions for implementing successful economic diplomacy policy.
