Sažetak
The process of terrestrial digital video and audio broadcasting in European countries started 20 years ago. With video–audio standardization for transmission and coding procedures, a new era was opened in digital technology. The world digital broadcasting with communication research, industries and digital interactive media is now closely linked with computer science, radiocomunications, telecomunications, Internet / World Wide Web. Together with dynamic digital media era and global and regional media regulation it is necessary to develop economic and digital media business model monetization. The main purpose of this paper is to identify present situation in selected European countries, Republic of Croatia and Slovak Republic, and to analyze application of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models in implementation of digital audio broadcasting (DAB+) infrastructure networks. To introduce PPP it is necessary to define financial method, outsourcing and private property. In this paper we explain the difference between Traditional financing model and the Basic financing PPP project model. The aim of the paper is to present a balanced recommendation for using PPP model among involved parties according to the country specifics. The paper will explain the reasons to switch from FM radio digital audio transmission to DAB+ radio, and point out technological advantages. Usage of DAB+ ensures improved signal quality, higher availability of provided services and cost reduction for transmitter operation and maintenance.
