Sažetak
The advantages of high transverse contact ratio involute gears (with transverse contact ratio between two and three) compared with the standard gears (with transverse contact ratio less then two) are: bigger load capacity, more uniform torque transmission and noise reduction. To obtain high transverse contact ratio it is necessary to diminish the normal pressure angle, which significantly influences the Hertzian stress. This paper deals with the influence of the normal pressure angle on the Hertzian stress in high transverse contact ratio involute gearing. Recommendations of the choice of convenient normal pressure angle offering high transverse contact ratio and low Hertzian stress are given.
