Sažetak
The role of Ivo Režek in the development of modern Croatian painting has not been sufficently sterssed by contemporary art historians and his work requiers re-evaluetion. True, he has been included among the leading realists of the period between the two wars and recongnized as a significant humanist, and an artist who remaind in touch with native region and is in that sense a regionalist. However, his unswerving ralist orientation has led to unjustified critical neglect in the second half of the twantieth century. This comprehensive monograph devoted to his work aims at reaffirming the importance of this consistent realist characterized by firm ethical vision and high artistic standards.
