Sažetak
Parents of children with mental retardation in transition countries have difficulties liberating themselves from negative emotions(guilt, shame)for their child what is probably the reason for not taking a partner's role in the child's rehabilitation.The aim of MATRA project is to increase the parents awareness of their exceptional position and to strenghten parents organizations through development of comminication skills, conflict management etc. The knowledge acquiered by the experiences of Dutch parents is being offered to the parents in Croatia.
