Sažetak
John Lenković, military commander, composed in 1563 the report on the status of fortification and defense of the lands between Sisak and Trsat, and in it he listed all strongholds ; those that must be repaired for further defense, and those that must be abandoned. The main goal of this study is to define which traffic corridors on the areas between Velika Kapela mountain and river Sava, that is the must endangered areas by the Ottoman raids, captain Lenković wanted to protect and what was the geostrategic importance of each of those corridors. In order to achieve that goal in the study it was discussed geographical position and geostrategic importance of each stronghold mentioned in Lenković’s report, as well as the existence of traffic corridors on above-mentioned area. Finnaly, by the analyzing Lenković’s report it is given the answer to the question which traffic corridors he wanted to defense and what was geostrategic reason for that.
