Sažetak
LTE is latest solution provided as answer to new requirements on mobile networks. LTE architecture provides meaningful performance improvements in shape of network architecture simplification, increased network capacity and speed. LTE network architecture is also cheaper to deploy and maintain, which means that performance of services provided by mobile operator will be better, and charges for users will be lower. New technology used in access domain of LTE (eNodeBs) enables easy scalability of network as traffic increases. As part of LTE, IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) is global architecture which provides various types of multimedia services to end-users using Internet-based protocol. It completely abandons CS (circuit switch) network model and relies on PS (packet switch) model. PS model provides more efficient network usage since there is no more constant resource reservation and the usage is volume-based rather than time-based. S-CSCF (Serving Call Service Control Function) is entity within IMS. More precisely, it is a focal point of IMS and it has a lot of responsibilities, such as, handling UE (user equipment) registration, de-registration and re-registration processes handling, making routing decisions, maintaining session states, storing and updating service profiles. While operating, S-CSCF communicates with other entities in IMS using two main protocols: SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and Diameter protocol. Load analysis of developed software for S-CSCF component, as main goal of this master thesis, was executed in industrial environment which provided real-life conditions where the network traffic was open to various transmission interferences. As traffic generator, linear distribution model was used with two different setups. Analysis results were represented using graphs and comparison between both setups was given.
