Sažetak
This paper addresses the most challenging public health concerns related to food and examines the ways in which the protection of public health has impacted the development of EU food policy. The discussion points to the existing legal and policy challenges and gaps in the food law regime related to public health and suggests possible modifications that would address these challenges. It calls for a further shift of regulatory emphasis from food safety concerns to public health matters which are not caused by food safety problems.
