Sažetak
Economies of countries in transition are characterised by a low GDP per capita, low level of development, unemployment, inflation, a low level of accumulation and investment, transformational problems of ownership, low standard of living, lack of employee motivation, low profitability, and other cumbersome organisational factors resulting from an imperfect functioning of both the market mechanism and legal system. This article examines one particular aspect – productivity, and examines the causes of low productivity and fundamental presumptions for increased productivity in Croatia’s hotel industry.
