Sažetak
The feeling of satisfaction is, among others, connected with leisure time – its quantity and the quality of its usage. Thanks to the development of technology, the man is expected to work less and with greater ease, and his available leisure time will steadily increase. This trend is reflected in the fact that the 21st century is called ‘the era of leisure’. Wellness tourism, as a sub-segment of health tourism has become a global phenomenon. According to the European Travel Monitor (2004), health-oriented holidays account for over 15% of the total European international holiday market. This paper focuses on wellness tourism in Croatia i.e. The Opatija Riviera, where wellness as a tourist motive is still underrepresented.
