Sažetak
This chapter aims to contribute to the debate in reference of how to ensure the public trust in engineering. A key aspect of the Internet of Things is data sharing, what represents a huge challenge for the smart city project as it raises issues of privacy and data security. The message of the chapter is that IoT is not just another advanced technical device but rather it ought to be understand as a major milestone in social development, meaning that politicians, engineers and opinion makers should understand its social and political implications in order to be capable of proactive action.
