Sažetak
An information system for health monitoring (HMIS) in small areas has been developed for monitoring of health, ecological, demographic and other relevant phenomena. HMIS should serve as a tool for community medicine studies and as a support for management, evaluation and planning of health service provision. HMIS has been designed for use with standard personal computers linked to computer networks, with data input provided either from the keyboard or from a host computer, with a database implemented by using any of the standard database software products for PC's. HMIS offers the possibility to obtain easily understandable and comparable morbidity data in smaller areas of a larger community and is suitable for expansion to include ecological, social, economic and other data relevant for health care provision, evaluation and planning.
