Sažetak
The aim of this research is to clarify the anatomy of carob seeds because of two currently accepted but incomplete explanations. The number of tissues within carob seed is ten, but not just four as defined by previous authors. It is obvious from this study that after the layer of malphigian cells, or precisely after linea lucida, is placed a monolayer of cells, than follows a layer of mechanical tissue and after it, follows again a monolayer of cells, whose cells produce a cuticle and causing a brightness of the surface of carob seed. Also, it is visible a continuous thin line which formats a ring inside the layer of malphigian cells, below linea lucida. Distribution of other tissues corresponds with determinations of previous researchers.
