Sažetak
In the translational project Assessment of Microbiota, Inflammatory Markers, Nutritional and Endocrinological Status in IBD Patients (Acronym: MINUTE for IBD) we are exploring host-gut microbiota interactions in order to define novel strategies for the management of IBD. Biological samples (stool, intestine biopsies, and blood) as well as food and quality of life questionaires from newly diagnosed IBD patients and non-IBD control individuals will be collected and analysed in the period 2014-2018. So far, 76 subjects have been recruited (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and other diagnoses). DNA from stool samples was sequencing and raw data were processing. Pilot analysis of intestine biopsies samples indicates differences in certain bacterial classes in patients with respect to control subject, and preliminary analysis of inflammatory biomarkers from blood suggests that there are significant differences between Crohn, ulcerative and control groups.
