Sažetak
This paper analyses the issue of defining a main area, crucial for functioning of mobile phones’ software in public transportation and analysing the possibilities of increasing the quality of service in public transportation of passengers from the standpoint of elements that make intelligent transportation systems implemented in the public transportation’s vehicles. Special emphasis was given to specific areas, relevant in realisation of such technologies that is services. Appliances required for realisation of such services were used as starting point of research together with Internet that serves as basis for functioning and connecting software, followed by detailed overview of applications which can be used for the same purpose. As an important element a proposition for designing applicative software uniting all the above described areas was proposed, thus presenting the way all these elements can function together. Other areas of interest that were discussed are: passengers’ satisfaction, higher quality of service, implementing the intelligent systems in public transportation and presenting them to the public transportation users, harmonizing the operations of software, Internet and vehicles in public transportation of passengers in ways that will fulfil needs of passengers, carriers and environment.
