Sažetak
By viewing the problem of lack and disorganisation of treatment for gambling relatred problems and disorders in the Republic of Crooatia, experts in the field of addiction are faced with the challenge of creating and putting forward an all.inclusive treatment of the problem of suffisient quality. A nees to deal with the problem on the levels of primary, secundary and tertiary prevention is forcing itself on us. Thus far none of this has been dealt with, with any level of quality, whics is unexpectable when viewing the dimensions of the phenomenon in the moderns Croatian socciety. Primary model of prevention is throuhgt of an intervention at the level of elementary and high school children, through modern models of work (debates, workshops...=. secondary prevention is implemented through institutional models of treatment, and precisely at this point the model has failed the most, and the perspectives is burdened with the weight of objective and subjective difficulties. The autor sees as a solution in additional investments in manpower and finances of exsiting country centers for prevention and trreatment od addictive diseases that should take the weight of clinical departments and county psychiatrical departments, and take most of the weight on themselves. They would be financed directly from the funds gathered from taxes on gambling (additional legislation is needed, which is faces with a sizable resistance). And finally tertiary prevention measures that include gambling addicts clubs, modeled after clubs for recovering alcoholics. Unfortunately, at this moment clubs for gambvling addicts are at trheir beginings, there are only a few them at this moment, and are in fact exsample models for the foundation and development of a web of a clubs. In the lack of institutional models of treatment, except for the measures of maintening members abstinence and rehabilitation, that nis their primary activity, witrh the help of a few experts they have taken upon them measures of starting treatment, that are in the proposed program still intended for the institutional model of treatment.
