Sažetak
Međimurje, as yet undiscovered tourism destination in Republic of Croatia, offers a range of quality tourist, cultural, sporting and recreational facilities, which can be consumed throughout the whole year due to its position and excellent road connection by highways and not far from the capital city of Zagreb but also Hungary, Slovenia and Austria. Tourism and hotel industry with numerous ancillary catering services should be a key factor of the continental tourism of the Međimurje County. Rich authentic cuisine, flora and fauna, wine tourism, beautiful nature, rivers Drava and Mura and thermal healing water sources as well as a range of other facilities make the Međimurje County exceptionally favourable for the development of hotel industry. The development of the economy of the Međimurje County has been recently more and more based on the development of tourism, entrepreneurship and agriculture. Since people today are increasingly exposed to daily mental and physical strain at work, escape from everyday life and finding your true self can be found in the tourism industry. In the last few years the Međimurje region has been recently developing hospitality industry as a form of tourism offer. The main success factor in tourism is human resources. Therefore, the employees, who significantly contribute to the quality and distinctiveness of hotels and tourism destinations certainly play the essential role inequality improvement and recognition of a hotel and a tourism destination.
