Sažetak
Having realised that undergraduated studies and courses at the School of Medicine , Faculty of Social Studies, Faculti of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, or College of Nurses do not provide even remotely good or wide knowledge of the area of alcohol induced disorders, The Croatian Association of Alco0holism and Croatian Association of Clubs of Treated alcoholics formed a continuous four- semester school for experts in the area of alcohology. The training is organised in four- week cycles, each in its own semester, in order for the participants to be able to simultaneosly apply knowledge in Clubs of treated alcoholics as well as to exchange expirience from their own work. The schooling comprisee 40% of lectures and 60% of workshops. The first series of lecture is dedicated to raising the awareness of alcohol induced disorders(causes of drinking and alcoholism, epidemiology, alcoholism and Youth, socialn complications of drinking, psychiatric and fizical complications of alcoholism, comorbidity of alcoholism, basis of family therapy, therapeutuic community, doctrine of the activities of clubs of treated alcoholics, course and prognosis of alcohol addiction, young peoplea risky behavior). The second series of lectures isn oriented towards the activity of clubs of treated alcoholics (basis elements of CAT, motivation tehniques for entering the treatemnt of alcohol addicts, dynamics of framily relations in the alcoholics family, organisation and preventive activities in local communities, communication and perception, active listening). The third series is dedicated to education in alcohology (qualityy of education as a precondition of suc cesfull work, significanse of and need for supervision, early interventions through counseling, education in therapeutic communities, relapse, therapist motivation for work and burnout syndrome, self- perception, importance of life skills trainings, "positive addictions"). The fourth final series id dedicated to a comprehensive model of alcoholism treatment (models of treating alcohol addiction), economics of treating alcohol addiction, doctrine of recovery with the help of self-help groups, development of the concept of alcohol addiction, trating individuals with alcohol induced disorders in penal system, ethical guidelines connected to managing groups).
