Sažetak
Representation of similarities and distinctive features in the training programs of different types of addiction is planned as part of the symposium. However, with regard to the personality of addicts as well as trend of polytoxicomania, a need for synthesis of educational fields and techniques is increasingly growing. This trend of synthesis impose needs of education for those experts in the field of addiction for those areas that do not deal with clinical issues or do not have enough experience. As for patients, the impression is that addicted patients know their problem better than their family members, so emphasis should be more on working with family members. A significant portion of psychoeducational techniques and efforts goes to break the resistance of addicts to self-knowledge about their addiction, their motivation for change, as well as abstinence. Equally, motivation of patients and their families to participate in the self-help groups and family programs therapy is significant. Only motivated and well psychoeducated patient, with the support and treatment of the whole family, can maintain abstinence for a long time and strenghten character and personality.
