Sažetak
Authors are discussing the relation between law and culture. Following the Luhmann’s premise that ‘’all collective human life is shaped by law’’, they try to utilize some existing concepts for better understanding of law as a social phenomenon. Key concept used is the Friedmann’s legal culture, ‘’ideas, attitudes, values and beliefs that people hold about legal system’’. Te distinction between the internal and external legal culture is also signifcant for developing the analytical frame and description of relation of law and culture. By examining some empirical studies on legal system, the author’s try to better explain their relation, particularly the relation of internal legal culture with general culture. Te frame is used on recent research about gender stereotypes in law and the attitudes toward the criminal law system. Tey argue that the question of stereotypes in internal legal culture presents a valuable research point while it shows the connection of ‘general culture’ with different levels of legal culture. Cases also show the change of law in its connection with culture. Further, this brings all three components of legal system together, and provides insight about their connections and dependence.
