Sažetak
The present study relies on determining the mineral composition of ten different rice seeds by sample status (breeder’s line, improved cultivar, unknown origin) (Oryza sativa L.). Samples have the collection numbers associated by their registered names: BN1-025 (Biser-2), BN1- 0030 (Cripto), BN1-0035 (Diana), BN1-0042 (EuropaxS-201), BN1-0048 (Gritna), BN1-0061 (Kakai 203xM-101), BN1-0063 (Karneroli), BN1-0072 (Lemont), BN1-0074 (Lido) and BN1-0084 (Mistral). Relying on the importance of mineral micro and macro elements for all biochemical processes as well as the nutritive value of rice seed their concentration has been measured on AAS (Atomic apsorption spectrophotometer). By estimating the concentration of micro and macro elements present in rice seed (Oryza sativa L.) the net production of organic biomolecules can be assumed. The elements included iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), potassium (K), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), magnesium (Mg) and calcium (Ca). According to our expectations the competitiveness of some elements (Cu) to others (Fe, Mg, Mn, Zn) was major factor limiting their concentration. Dye to the minor concentration of elements that are part of organic biomolecules and antioxidative enzymes such as Mg, Fe, Mn, Zu and Cu, sample BN1-0042 showed the lowest capacity for mineral assimilation, which reflects the qualitative disadvantage for the investigated species.
