Sažetak
The aim of this paper was to demonstrate the complexity of problems related to alcohol among Croatian youth. The society with drinking rituals deeply rooted in tradition and a large number of alcoholics in the adult population also generate alcohol-related problems among the youth. The main problem associated with drinking among young people is not alcohol dependence, but the consequences of alcohol abuse in behavior and traffic-poor school success, delinquency, aggression and frequent abuses of other substances. The age limit for first experimenting with alcohol is getting lower, suggesting that a preventive program targeted at children does not have the expected, satisfactory results.
