Sažetak
Large quantities of marine litter end up in the sea worldwide, turning it into the worlds biggest landfill and thus posing environmental, economic, public and aesthetic problems. The paper elaborates the sources and impact of marine litter as well as the economics and policies related to marine litter. The transition to a more circular economy, where the values of products, materials and resources is maintained in the economy for as long as possible is of utmost importance for regulating marine litter.
