Sažetak
In the period from 1995 to 1996, during systematic health monitoring program on four different pig producing farms in Croatia, reproductive and respiratory disturbances were recognized. The phenomenon was studied epizootiologically, clinically, pathomorphologically, bacteroiologically and serologically. More then two thousend carcasses were examined. Based on characteristic epizootiological situation, specific clinical, gross pathological and histopathological findings, as well as positive serological tests, the diagnosis of the Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) was established. This is the first original report on PRRS in Croatia.
