Sažetak
We are pleased and honored to announce our next international psychometric symposium devoted to the memory of our Professor Alija Kulenović. It is a great pleasure to say that this event takes part for the eighth time including again a list of valued contributions by a group of colleagues varied in many ways: in terms of age, professional and academic experience, or specific area of scientific interest and expertise, but all committed to the study of psychological measurement, and dealing with psychometric issues either from its theoretical, methodological or predominantly applied standpoint. The Symposium gathered again scientists from a number of different countries. We are delighted to note that the program includes eleven presentations offered by authors coming from Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Sweden, UK, USA, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia. Based on the major focus of each of the contributions the program is divided this year into two parts. The talks given in the first part center largely on the assessment issues and the use of psychometric theory to test the quality of particular operationalization attempts. The portrayal of specific psychological instruments will be offered, including both well-known tests with decades of tradition, such as the Adaptive Intelligence Diagnosticum (K. Kubinger), and the new approaches and methods at measuring personality (Z. Galić et al.). Also, the use of specific analytic solutions, such as local structural equation modeling (A. Hildebrandt et al.), and the application of test theories, in answering substantive (A. Mujagić & V. Buško) and/or validation questions (U. Mikac et al.) will also be presented. The second part of the Symposium comprises the talks dealing mainly with different methodological solutions applied to measurement issues, such as the use of centroid clustering analysis (F. Prot & S. Prot) or the treatment of the measurement invariance problem demonstrated on real-life (V. Takšić et al.) or simulated data (B. Rebernjak). Moreover, a question of informative fit indices in the context of scale construction under Rasch model will be exemplified (G. Sočan). Finally, the implications of extra information contained in item responses, such as time on task (D-B. Ćepulić et al.) or confidence level (D. Ljubotina), for the quality of measurement will also be discussed.
